When I was 5-8 yrs old we lived on a farm near Drayton Valley AB. Wonderful time but we moved away in 1972. It was there my dad shot a deer with his brand new 30-30 Golden Spike Commemorative Rifle. He had it all these years with the deer head mounted. This January he got a terminal cancer diagnosis. He started selling off his possessions which included this rifle. I don't know if he was pissed with the world and all the people in it, forgot or needed money, but he sold it. Problem is that we had talked before and had an agreement that I was to get it when he no longer had a use for it [death]. He told me a month ago he sold it and forgot we had an agreement.

Does anyone know of M94 30-30 Commemorative collecting site, club, forum for Canada. I haven't found much.

Any help in finding this will be rewarded.

Thanks
Wayne

They come up often in the EE...almost always various models for sale. Just check it daily. Some guys sell off some pretty large collections. Try posting an ad in the WTB Hunting & Sporting Rifles sub-forum.

First off I hate Cancer, #### I really hate Cancer and my thoughts are with your family .
Now, get active in the EE and ask for this gun and post the same in the Alberta Outdoors as well looking for this gun.
You just might get lucky and find it closer than you think.

Just wondering if you have any idea who he might have sold the rifle to?Perhaps you could start a search from that direction.

I did ask, he doesn't know and the dealer gave no paperwork etc.

I did post an ad in EE WTB 1 month ago.

Thanks

Sincere condolences on the loss of your Dad. I hope you are successful in the quest for that rifle.

NAA.

And to think I was at the show last April.
Here is a link to that show.
I would try and contact Ken Burchell and see if he has a list of the vendors then.
Could be time consuming, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Still no luck in finding this rifle. Thought I would mention the Penticton April gun show in less than 2 weeks.

Still offering a finders fee.

Thanks

If you were to see the rifle could you identify it from other Golden Spike Commemorative rifles? I believe one went thru wards Auction this past Saturday
