My 42 Long Branch stock upgrade

I got this a few years ago on the EE.
This is how I got it,

Didn't like the miss matched wood so much, so when I sold a few other Enfields, I made up a nicer stock set from others..
I recently got a very nice unissued butt on the EE, and thought it looked like a better match.

I think I was right.

I haven't shot it yet, but I am very happy with the wood now.

What a beautiful job. You may get some flak from the purists, but I always loved the walnut much more than the birch stocks.

It didn't look to have any matching pieces, just a bunch of different woods, and finishes.

I like to keep things original if I can, but I will improve upon things if already ruined.

you are right, it looks much better now...

all you need is a correct Longbranch steel butt plate from Tradex for $2.00.

Is the steel one correct? I have seen brass, steel, and whatever that zinc metal is on LB.

Someone may correct me but I think it'll depend on the year of longbranch or enfield.The earlier ones were brass,but as the war progressed brass became a commodity better used elsewhere.
