Have a 452 Mannlicher and thought I'd keep irons on it. First trip to the range it shot several inches high @ 25. Second trip I adjusted the front sight so it's all the way up the ramp. Still shoots a few inches high.

The sight is a #2 height one (I know they come with a taller one) and i was wondering if something could be seriously wrong, or if I am doing something seriously wrong as a shooter. Or if anybody had the same experience/advice.

Thanks!

Pretty sure cz sets the sites up for zeroing in at a farther distance for one, second hyper velocity ammo vs standard velocity ammo will make a differance as well and you never said what you were shooting.

Yup, try it with standard velocity ammo @ 50 yards... It should be plenty accurate out to that distance, after all, it's not a 10/22. :p

Thanks guys. I was shooting CCI regular velocity and Remington Sub-Sonic. The test target was for 50 M but I moved the rear-sight ladder down to 25 M, moved the front sight post high as it'll go and tried for 25.

Ended up having to aim for the bottom of the paper. I didn't try much for 50, my eyes aren't very good past 25. :dancingbanana:
My hopped-up 10/22 groups like a MFer at 50 and even good at 100 though it's scoped.

If your going to continue shooting it at 25 yards I would contact CZ and see if they will ship you the higher front sight then. option number two is to use a bigger black circle with a 6 o'clock hold to get your point of aim lower and on a fixed part of the target
