Son James and I set up a blind against a brushpile in the neighboring 1/4 section and I put out 2 Flambeau decoys in the field about 40 yds away. This buck came in with six does and he was mad as his does kept trying to check out the decoys.....well, to make a long story short, he walked past with his ears back, trying to round up his harem and I dropped him at 27 yds with my Hawken 50cal that I bought from a very fine Gentleman in BC.....using the roundball/patches/lube he supplied me. First animal I ever shot with a muzzleloader.

If Bob (chola) is able to post the other pictures, they show our set-up and an incidental coyote that I got with a pre-64 3006 purchased from Bud Manty of Thunder Bay. A fine rifle and in great shape considering it is a 1951 mfg.

James insisted on posing with the dog holding his Henry Micro bolt .22 since he put the finisher into the dog. btw the coyote was hit at 670meters and is being mounted due to the fact that it is a genuine miracle I hit him. I figure I owe the dog that much.

Nuthin' like taking a deer with stuff that is " borderline", undergunned" ,
"obsolete", or any ot=f the other completely useless terms the naysayers have for that type of firearm!
Ya done well, but I think the young feller is hot on yer heels!!:D

Six years old! That's excellent. My boy is two. I don't think he's quite ready yet. I can't wait till he is. Good stuff! Nice buck too Randy.

Dave.
