Let your fingers do the work. Goofle search for the Canadian Anschutz importer. It used to be Rudy Schutz in Kitchener, but he's gone. Ask the source; we're just amateurs.

A 64 action Anschutz with a 1228492 serial number was made around 1981. On the left side of the barrel near the receiver, the rifle should have a two letter date code, which Anschutz began using around 1978. If the SN dating is correct, the two letter code will be IB.

Date codes in the form of two letters began to be used around 1978, not 1968.
