Well my Artillery SAA Colt showed up today and im very happy with it.
Heres a few Pics just to show it off.
Its in the low Ser #s 10000s has the proper round ejector and a nice set of very old sambar stag grips. :)
Hard to choose between this one in 45 ACP/ 455 MKII or my 44 Special pearl handled gun!
Cant keep em both i guess.
Anyway theses are very hard to come by gun is tight as new and has a ex shiney bore still. US marked.
Enjoy the pics.

Another gorgeous SAA! I especially love those Sambar Stag grips.

Yes me to :) and there not new ones there old from the 1800s they are expensive run $600 and up for a aged antique set and to find old ones like this is rare, most are modern made sambar grips.
even modern made ones cost $200 and up.
I like theses cause there fat and i have big hands. the other SAA colt gun im keeping has pearl grips i like them as well but not as much as theses.

Nice pic, not to detract, but one of these showed up at Jane and Finch by you know who, would antique status be history?

Yes Antique status is lost as soon as any Antique gun is used in any ilegal activity.
So if a Antique were bought and used in some crime you wouldnt know about it because the perp would be treated as if it was a Restricted firearm.

Antique firearms are "deemed" non-firearms in the criminal code. They revert back to being firearms when used in criminal actions.

Chances are good that the J&F type wouldn't be looking for a $5000 single action antique revolver. Not when modern blackmarket semis are easier to get for a lot less cash.

Thanks boys, wasn't trying to hijack thread. The individual with the antique status would be convicted, not every antique owners in Canada have the status reverted back to restricted. Gotcha. How many more deals are south of the border waiting for Canadian homes I wonder?

Artillery Colt

Hey Dingus, handsome piece, just curious? Does it have all mixed numbers, as to frame, cylinder, backstrap etc,or did whoever refinished it, match all the numbers? Those artillery pieces should be the most wanted of all the US martial marked pistol, they were there! At the battle of the Little Big Horn, Wounded Knee, Sand Creek, the Apache Wars, San Juan Hill, Pershings Mexican Expedition, and other scrapes and dust up's that the US troopers had to shoot their way into, or out of many times, regards Bully

Its a Mixed numbers gun.
im sure its seen some Military use as it started out as a calvery colt then sent back to be redone the blued frame is correct to then sent to the artillery.
just the grips should be walnut but the stag is so nice i figgered someone would like them on the gun.
The history on theses is pretty intresting this one is a very low ser #ed gun to.
