My app was transferred to regional police?

I applied 2 months ago for my PAL/RPAL. After the CFC completed all the checks and phone interviews I called to check the status and was informed that the Ontario CFO transferred the file to the firearm officer at the Halton Regional Police Services (I live in Halton).

Is this something out of the ordinary? It seems like they are conducting checks with the local police services in my town as well!

I would assume that there is a F.I.P. file with your name on it. (One of over four million.)

If you really have no idea what this is about, you can either submit a request - to each of these agencies - for your personal information under the Privacy Act.
