I just picked up my dies and am about to start loading .38 / .357.. So I get a box of DRG cast bullets -- 38S-150gr-SWC . So I get home and start looking through the reloading manual and something looks wrong. The diameter is .355,not the .357 or .358 as listed for .357/.38 special. Then it dawns on me, I incorrectly assumed that the S in .38S stood for special when it appears to have meant SUPER.

So, can I use these for .357 or .38 special ? I mean what's 1/1000th " between friends..

Can you safely use them? Yep.

Will they be accurate and not lead the barrel mercilessly? Maybe not. Undersized cast bullets tend to lead badly and may or may not be accurate for you. Can you return the bullets for the correct .357"/.358" ones?

What he said. They might work well, or might not. Exchanging then would be the easiest way. Shooting them will not damage your gun, however, just lead up the barrel and be lousy accuracy, at worst.

Thanks for your input. So I can use em but be careful, don't expect accuracy and expect to have a mess to clean up. Well I'll just try and exchange them and if I can't I'm sure there's an IPSC guy at my club I can unload them on at a huge discount.

Thanks again
