My AG42b was chopped and wrecked before I got it,I swear.

But my issue is that I have to hold 2.5 feet under the target at 200 yards to hit a 4 foot gong. I'm thinking the front sight needs to be taller, but maybe there's more to it?

1. Where can I find a better set screw style from sight?
2. Why does my sight have a plate that clips on with a B on it? The V is lower if I remove this plate....
3. Is the crown at the end of the barrel supposed to be a perfect circle? It looks goofy to me.

It’s been a few years since I had one of these thumb biters in the safe so I’m just going off what I can remember: there were two different bullet types, a round nose and a spitzer. IIRC, the range tag (square thing with B) can be turned around and over to match the velocity change for each ammunition type. Usually you have to take the hand guard off to adjust ;)

As for the muzzle, it looks like someone used a chamfering tool on the crown? Hard to see with the focus the way it is...

I tried a bunch of photos and that was the best I got.

And I can flip the sight to round nose if I want, but this plate is the actual rear sight V itself can be run with a shallow v, or remove plate to use a deeper V

OP,
Have the front sight built up .060"-.080" & blend the height to your liking.

Cleaning the bore...once in a while won't hurt matters....either!
