I'm in good company already, both of you (NAA & 8Ball) also have an appreciation for 1911's, my other favorite gun.
Ruffbird don't feel left out, you have more than your fair share of Ruger's which should more than compensate . I do much prefer the non engraved cylinder like your .44, might have to do something about that.
Your gun reminds me a gun scene in the "The Grey Fox" movie. Actor Richard Farnsworth playing Bill Miner pulls out his 5½" Bisley just under the nose of the knife menacing bum to calm him down. The bum realized that it was better for him to not to get into a gunfight with a knife...

I waited many years for this gun and finaly I have it!
i do prefer the bisley for the heavy loads. other folks prefer the plow handle grip frame, so it can roll in the hand. you have to try each to see what works for you.
the original vaquero was offered with bisley equipment, (trigger, hammer, & grip-frame.) this one in the picture is a .45 colt.....
I purchased the guns new from Wholesale Sports In Calgary and later when the Ruger Hunter series came out I called Ruger and purchased 2 sets of their Hunter grips.
The guns have been worked over by Peter Reidel a very accomplished single action and lever action local gunsmith. As well as I did the "Poor Boy Trigger Job" to them when I first bought them.
I am totally amazed at the accuracy of these guns as well with them able to (when I do my part) hit a 8" X 11" target with every shot @ 100 yards. I load from 200gr 650fps Cowboy loads up to 330gr @ 1300fps and just bought some new 345gr Beartooth bullets that I am hopefully going to get 1200fps with.
