So after a good 3-4 months of dicking around, waiting for parts, buying parts while i'm on vacation, forgetting them getting them mailed out then having a nap i built my first precision rifle (I Hope : )

its based on a rem 700 in .300 win mag
Here's the pick no range report yet no time on the week days but will try to get it out on sunday,

That stock is an XLR industries stock i got from a fellow CGN member juanvaldez, (who was great through whole transaction no matter how impatient and annoying i got : )

What kind of barrel you got on it?? Is it a build or a factory rifle with a new stock?

so far only custom work done was the trigger replaced with a x-mark pro i believe it is (the one that comes standard on the newer remington 700's)

the barrel is not the factory barrel i don't have the specs handy on it right now will check when i get home but that was done by the previous owner before i bought it, tbh i think i may go with a heavier barrel likely send it to alberta tactical for some TLC when its in the budget again :p

so yes its still VERY factory compared to some of the builds out there but its a start and it makes me :)

The scope is a bushnell 4200 elite. I have shot it but not in its current form, only at the indoor range, and with a bench rest can put 3 rounds through the same hole easily enough

when it gets nice out i'll take it outdoors and see what I can do at 100-300 yards i'm sure i'll be the limiting factor for some time to come :p

You're from Edmonton so I am guessing you took it out to Phoenix and shot at the indoor 40 yard range. I would sure hope it's shooting one hole groups at that distance.:p
I'd like to hear about your rifle @ minimum 100 yards. Keep us posted.
