Okay you M14 lovers and newbsticks:

John at marstar.ca and I have to postpone and reschedule our 20 Mar 2010 Saturday Ottawa clinic. The Vankleek Hill GC is committed to other events. I will leave a Saturday in October open for this Ottawa/Vankleek Hill GC clinic... Sorry about that; you Easter Ont and Montreal area M14 afficionados.

I have a small window of opportunity to work with and here are the parameters for having me at your venue:

* 20 Mar Sat Clinic at your GC, classroom, shop, open space, gun range
* Fly/ Drive in on Friday, teach & tweak Sat, fly home on Sun
* Pointman gets to shuttle me around and put up with my snoring (spare bedroom?)
* Western Canada CGNutz, I'm driving out to Gangcouver (I'm homesick) this July with stops in Winnipeg (TBC), Calgary at TSE, and any other SK, AB, BC, MB hosts who would like a private M14 clinic, but I'm on Hwy 1 corridor. You SK CGNutz with gophers, I'll be PM'ing you for confirmation (gopher safari) later.

April, May, June, through Sep and Oct will be my busiest months for Service Rifle and Service CQB that will see me using up to 3 weekends per month (my wife is an angel) committed, so my M14 clinics have to happen in Jan Feb Mar.

So if you are an M14 lover and want to help organize an M14 clinic in Ont, Que, NB, NS, NL..... I'm game. :D PM me and we'll see if we can whip one up quickly.

Well s**t. So a month before it was to take place, the VKH Gun Club suddenly got "committed to other events"? Several of us have waited almost a year for this and passed over other Ontario events for it.

How much space do you need and what other requirements do you have, e.g. power, lighting, etc?
 
I can do this is any classroom with 6' or 8' tables. Just the usual wall electricity is fine. Portable classroom? I can do that. Gun club gathering room? That's doable...

No fear Ottawa dudes, I am committed to coming in Sep or Oct.... Last Sep the Halifax folks (NavyShooter) got me over there! That was a lot of fun. :D

Have I got news for you. I'm homesick for Gangcouver and the Wet Coast. I have some time off this coming Jul/Aug outside of my commitments to the Service Rifle/ Service CQB programme here in Bantario.

I am considering 2nd or 3rd or 4th week of Jul give or take, maybe the 1st week in Aug. I'm working on dates for a Wpg (location to be arranged/booked/confirmed) and Calgary (TSE is always fantastic... TSE JR is a super fella to deal with). And here's the best part... I will be swinging back through Calgary and Winnipeg on the way home ;)

I'm really excited about the thought of this road trip. :)

Now about 20 Mar, M14Doctor... I'll send you a PM... Now that badboybeeson has had his refusal for the Kingston Venue.

Ottawa/ Montreal dudes, I'm committing a Sep weekend for you fellas! :D Fear not!

We've done the east side of Ottawa two years running, anyone to the west want to set something up? I'm thinking the Pembroke/Pet/Eganville area.

About the same distance from Ottawa as Vankleek Hill was, and if MTL wants to come its not impossible.

I am presently working on reserving another venue for 20 Mar. Do you plan to hold that date for a bit longer for the Ottawa bunch?

How would you like to have it on the 24th of July at Homestead?
We could potentially have the class in the clubhouse and have the range available for immediate feedback of improvements?:D

Nice ha ha ha Spitball! Lemme go and look at my calendar..... No promises, but I WILL be out west this summer!! I just have to hit the open road! I've always wanted to do this over the years with some open vacation time. :D

Was looking forward to that.

Hungry here: Booking the physical site is always one of the hardest jobs for the pointman. Might have to wait for next fall or consider a drive to Ottawa for 20 Mar 2010 Saturday at Smith Falls F&G Club.

Yup, Andy in Ottawa just stepped up and confirmed/booked the Smith Falls F&G Club for the 20th March 2010 Saturday. Got another thread on the go for this day.... :D
 
Nice, compared to VKH we have a lot of space in the clubhouse. + 100 yrd outdoor range. Plenty of room for everyone.

I apologize for the problems, HOWEVER I have noted several times that e mail should be sent to my personal box john@marstar.ca and NOT through a PM on CGN

I am often away from my base, I check my e mail on a regular basis but not my PMs....

Hungry's message sat in my PM file for some time before I noticed it....

BTW we plan our events months ahead at the club.... So don't feel offended
