My Chinese SKS - First Impressions

A friend of mine has a pallet of 762x39 ammo. 75,000 rounds or something like that . Not sure we could even shoot all that? The lifespan of an SKS barrel wouldn't be more than 10-15k rounds? I suspect all the SKS barrels in our group would be smoothbores before we run out of ammo.

Damn, I wish I had that much. It's taken me years to build up less than a third of that.

Don't add detachable mags. They make the guns less reliable and are about to be banned anyway. The sks might get a reprieve given how much the libtards are getting flack from indigenous ppl about having it on the ban amendment.

It has gotten interesting. Dancho has been pushing for the SKS exception. It's even possible the latest addendum gets pulled altogether. Not holding my breath....but we'll see.

Stands for "Factory Thorough Repair" (ie: refurbished)

Ahh, gotcha. I ended up getting another one of these from SFRC, they have 14% off, good deal. Not as good as folks getting them for $150 back in the day, but better late than never. I have a T81 that I will generally reach for when I have a x39 itch. But I really like the historical value of the SKS and they're solid little rifles.

I think the sks is built much sturdier than the T81. The sights are definitely better and they are more accurate.

I went shooting with a friend 1 t81 and 1 sks, by 150 rds sks was running good as usual and the type 81 all the wood had come loose for the 2nd time LOL. Type 81 are a pos made for max profit using scrap parts and worn equipment to assemble them. You look at any military t81 pics online and you can tell their 10x better quality than these
