I had this put together recently with a 223 Rem chambered 27" 9 twist barrel and a refinished stock. Bedded and cerekoted it turned out looking really good. Shot it yesterday in the cold with 70 gr Bergers and IMR 4895/H4895/CFE223 between 2950 and 3100 fps. The jammed IMR 4895 loads came in at ~0.15" at 3000 fps at 100 yrds which was a nice surprise. Just wanted to share. :runaway:

Thanks redshooter
It's an original 950t stock. I got it off the EE a while ago and refinished it. Actually my Dad did.

Thanks Jerry.
Shot it at 300 yrds this afternoon. 10 into 2.8" with the best 8 at 1.7"
Going to be a fun summer with this oldie!

Well done. Do consider a firing pin spring change.. that can help tighten groups if the current spring is old and tired.

Maybe try adjusting the load a bit either side of where you are now and see if that tightens up groups at 300 even more.

Enjoy the rifle.

Good call. The firing pin spring seems week based on the sound, but no misfires yet.
I have shot 4 sub 0.5” 100 yrd groups with 23/23.5 gr h4895 so I’m pretty close I think. If I can get rid of some of my warm barrel mirage too

Two different primers shot at 300 yrds today. H4895 and 70gr bergers.
Winchester small rifle on left at 2.8"
Federal 205M on right at 1.7"
Looks like an obvious choice going forward.:xes
