Hi there. I don't post much but I thought I'd share my story on the worst BCG ever made.
I purchased this thing new from SFRC back in May of 2014 to replace the BCG that came in my Norinco CQ-A as I thought it'd be better (wrong). I shot about 1k worth of ammo in it then the bolt broke at the cam pin but no worries right, NEA's got a lifetime warranty right. Got it back put it on storage as a backup then lent it to a friend in 2015 who was having trouble with his Bushmaster and thought it could be his BCG. He shoots maybe 200 rounds then one of the gas key screws gets sheered off at the head. Hmm maybe I'm just unlucky but I'm sure NEA will make it right.
Mailed it off, got it back and again it goes into storage. Considered selling it but NEA's a Canadian brand and it's a backup right... On a whim one day I'm at the range in 2016 and I decide to swap out my DD MK18's BCG and try the NEA just to make sure it works I get 10 shots then the bolt breaks though this time at the locking blocks. Getting pissed I send it back yet again, gets replaced with the "new and improved bolt" so I'm thinking I'm good to go! Decided to build a CQBR 10.5" shorty during the end of 2017 / early 2018 and hey I got the NEA as a spare so I plop that thing in, take it to the range and the gun is shooting great. Tearing the BCG apart and there's a chip in the improved bolt's cam pin area and I don't want to have a potential issue so it gets sent back.
I got it back 2 weeks ago now, took it to the range yesterday well nothing broke BUT... during my attempt to fire 10 rounds, I had 4 failures to feed & 2 failure to extract issues. It's not the gun, I swapped out the NEA with the DD from my MK18 and my custom build shoots awesome.
I considered emailing them again but I think I'll just keep this thing as decoration, maybe I'll bring it to the office and use it as a paperweight or something, it can't break just sitting there right?
