I own 2 CZ 858's

After communists reclassified the CZ 858's I was initially furious and wrote my local politicians to express my anger. However as more details emerged about the specifics of the ban I noticed that both my firearms had manufactures dates stamped pre 2007.

Score!

So to celebrate I had Dlask arms do some custom work to one.
I had it converted to a restricted VZ 58.

It started as a well used CZH2003 that I bought off a member here in 2007. It has a manufactures date stamped 2005 on the receiver. Since I purchased it has well over 5000 rounds through it.

Upgrades include:
- 11.8" stainless steel barrel. Threaded on both ends.
-threaded receiver with all new guts and springs
-muzzle break
-EOTech holographic with scout mount
-Multi rail fore stock
-telescoping butt stock
-black cerakote

This thing is awesome.

Nice to know that you were so happy for yourself, thing is, YOU COULD BE NEXT......so these letters you wrote were not for others alone, but for yourself in this sport/hobby.
Celebrate as you see fit, enjoy your pre 2007 but DO NOT stop expressing your anger politically for change. This is not something that just "goes away", our letters/emails/faxes/phone calls etc MUST continue if you don't want to be stuck trying to someday enjoy your single shot cooey!!

I would have sent the letters regardless of my situation. I was lucky, I've owned 858's longer than most I suppose.
I have a few friends that were not so lucky. One of them has a Swiss arms rifle. Really unfortunate.
Hoping this will be the end of general reclassification without consultation of the people. I'll send another round of letters out soon.
My non restricted 858 is almost as pretty.

CZH2003 rifles were never banned. CZ858 and the CZH aren't the same rifle. Made by the same company but the CZH was never named in the banning.

146386 CZ CZ858 Tactical-2 V Proofed 2005/2006 Ceska Zbrojovka (CZ)
Rifle Semi-Automatic Numbered
– non restricted

122781 CZ CZH2003 Sport Ceska Zbrojovka Hermex (CZH)
Rifle Semi-Automatic Numbered
– restricted and non restricted depending on barrel

Looks good but you probably paid a lot of money for that shorty's custom work. I guess the number #1 question is, how well does it shoot?
