I was always thorn in between looks of wood and functionality of the railed hand guards. Also, 19 inch version is too freaking long to transport, but I am not big fan of the default foldable stock. Then, Galil stock from my 223 carbine that was sold came to play. And for railed nangduard....... Check this out:

It took a bit of filing and drilling. Bolts are on red loctile and there is a epoxy glue in between rail and the base.

Thanks for your comments. To prevent wobbling I've squeezed in the wise front and rear parts, just enough to make them fit super tight. It doesn't wobble at all, it might reveal a little bit of inconsistency during actual shooting. Day at the range will tell :) Anyways, it was fun project. Will be double fun if it will work ;)

Very nice work. Always great to see someone taking on there own custom project. I'm almost done building a buffer tube into my wood stock so I can use my furniture and NEA cantilever mount together. Can't stand the look of that railed dust cover. will post pics soon. Again great job hope it holds tight for yOu.

Hey great rifle, and really great photos. What camera/lens set up are you using? The lighting is absolutely amazing, is it just a flash or are you using some kind of studio lights?
