Got this bubba'ed EAL because I could afford a Bubba'ed one. Someone had removed the rear sight and milled off the mount. Then they added a Weaver scope mount (drilled and tapped) and put on a weaver k2.5.

I cleaned it up a bit and while I was sighting in the scope, thought a cheek rest would be nice. Had one kickin around, and since it was bubba'ed anyway... I added it.

With the period scope and mount, it looks to me like what a kick butt Deer huntin rig would look like in the 1960's!

Know something?

It looks to me what a kick-butt deer hunting rig looks like in 2012. Nothing wrong with the cartridge or the rifle.

Good job.

yes it does look pretty kick ass for 2012. Don't know how it shoots yet, hoping to get to the range in the next couple of weeks. I love the .303 caliber. I have a new Ruger #1 in .303 that was to be my go-too gun for hunting, but if this setup shoots well, I may have a ruger #1 for sale.

The optics are pretty nice, and i've been looking at a bunch of on sale Bushnell and leupold stuff for the ruger. The only thing i've found is that if you are not looking through the scope absolutly strait the crosshairs seem to move a bit. Parallax error seems much higher than a newer scope.

Nice looking rifle!

The parallax is adjustable IIRC by rotating the ocular lens.

I was also wondering how it shoots...I have yet to shoot an EAL even after owning 5 or 6 of them.
