I built this thing tonight and think it might not work too bad, at least it will keep the attention off of me. I started out with a 2x10 and then put a door stop on one end. I trimmed off some of the stop and then forced/threaded a 5x16 piece of doweling into to it and drilled a couple of holes through it near the top of the doweling and put some white hockey tape on it. I put a piece of copper wire through the bottom hole to tie some string on to and was going to tie the 'fur thing' on to the top but the spring isn't strong enough so I will just use it like it is in the pics until I find a stiffer spring. I set the Johnny Stewart Prey Master base on the 2x10 and put in 4 screws so I can slide the base into them but it is not permanently attached. I put a handle on the one end to carry this contraption but may need to find a deeper one to accomodate winter mitts. It is easy to take down to fit it into an old gym bag along with some other hunting stuff so getting the gear to the vehicle has been simplified a bit. I really hate making several trips to the vehicle to get everything in there to go out. The open sided eye hook is to run the string through, but I will have to crimp it a wee bit tighter. I'll make the string the same length as the cord on the caller and wind it up on a piece of 1" doweling and put some kind of snap release on the end to attach to the piece of copper wire.
