So today I found some of my Norinco ammo which I have had sat in the back of my cupboard for a while now and today on a sudden urge, I decided to see what it can do with a precision bolt action.

The ammo was bought from CanAm and it was VERY well priced. Its the linked stuff which is a pain in the a-hole to strip down. But it was brass cased 7.62 X 51 and non corrosive so it met my needs (Our range does not allow for steel core ammo or any steel ammo for that matter :( )

Now, I had shot this ammo before in a old shorty M305 and it proved promising but not enough for me to care about it.

So I took my beloved new toy with me today and thought I would chuck some of it through and see how I/it did.

Well it wasnt too bad. Here is what I was using to shoot it with

Savage Arms Model 10 FCP-K .308. With my own little touch of paint and a Millett TRS 4-16X50 Scope (Great scope by the way) and a harris bipod. Nothing fancy but shoots great with Winchester and some of my buddies hand loads.

So here was my results at 100 yards with the scope not zeroed on. (Really sorry for the s**t target and no measurments. I forgot my range bag back at home like a tool and only had a few bits of crap paper and a marker pen lol) :slap:

Not too bad I think. Now I did snatch the trigger on one I think so judge how you wish (Im not a great shot but im getting there)

This was my second try on another 100 yard target with two 4 round shoots.

I was kinda impressed really to say the least. The ammo is CHEAP for its quantity and the quality i thought was fantastic. The brass is non reloadable but I couldnt care less. I spent I think about $700 for 990 rounds? I think it was a worthy deal. I just wanted to show you guys that not all *cheap* ammo, is bad for precision and that If anyone has anymore of this ammo.......

can I buy it lol :p

Now Im going to blast the crap out of the 300 yard targets with it tommorow and see what happens lol. With my shooting skills, i may need a few more sheets of paper lol.

Nice Test.

I always wondered how the Surplus ammunition would perform when used in Precision Rifles.
Looking forward to the 300 yard targets

Thanks! :)

Yeah it did ok. Normally i just use it to #### around with. But it has now prompted me to use it more in my other firearms.

sorry, but your ET like fingers are creaping me out.
