My first 9mm pistol boiled down to these choices. What do you think - I'm a lefty

Hi all, Well almost first. pistol...
I had to revise my list. The number one slot would be a SIG 266 if it could be configured in an ambi or left hand mode
I decided that I wanted to get involved in pistol shooting once again. I am left handed and many years ago I did own and use a CZ 85 that I purchased in 1991. My memory tells me the CZ 85 was very heavy. After doing a lot of reading I've kind of sorted it out to these and would appreciate comments and opinions. I just want to know what has worked for others and some thoughts.

M&P 9
Springfield Armory XD-9 4" service
CZ 85B
Taurus 809 SS

Oddly, I haven't been able to garner a whole lot of information about the Taurus 809 SS in 9mm

Thanks for the early comments. I'm going to try tomorrow to go to the indoor range and see what they have available that I might be able to try.
I have to say that I'm leaning toward the CZ because I've owned one and put rounds downrange with it.
What is it people don't like about the Taurus? Quality, reliability shoot ability?

If I had to pick what you listed it would be the M&P 9mm. Range kit price is awesome.

Look into the Walther PPQ Navy.....love mine. Best striker fired trigger of them all. Adj backstraps, and fully ambi, which is a plus for you.
 
I think you should buy a German made Sig P226 or HKP30L but out of your list the M&P 9 seems the most popular and dependable from what I've read.
 
CZ but a m&p would be nice being that your a lefty every thing on the m&p is ambi but never owned a polymer m&p so im still gonna say cz
 
Have you considered a Jericho? I started sport shooting with my CZ75bd, but switched to my Jericho. It decocks fully, not just to half notch, and has a better trigger. It's ambi as well. Of the guns you listed, I've shot the CZ and the M&P, both are fine guns. The M&P will have a lighter trigger(in DA) for that first shot, and not have to be decocked manually,(striker fired), but I like the weight of the CZ. Good luck
 
You folks that are suggesting Sig are either missing the left hand reference or haven't actually shot one. If there is ANY handgun that is MORE right handed I can't think of it.

Shikano, you didn't miss anything. The Sigs are as firmly right handed as you suspect.

If you don't know it already the mag release can be flipped around on the CZ to come out the right side for use with the left hand thumb. You can't flip the slide lock around though so it's not totally ambi like some other guns.

Everyone here is left handed? I suddenly don't feel so odd. I just switched the mag release on my M&P9 to accommodate my lefthandedness. I'm liking it so far, gonna get rid of the factory sights and trigger and should be all set.
