Well after 15 years, I am back in the hunting saddle full force, so after a few afternoons out at my spot this guy walked out behind a doe. I watched him for a bit and took the shot about 140 meters. I used my trusty Ruger M77 in 308 with my old Bushnell Banner 3x9x40 nice shot in the heart, with a 180 grain federal power shock.
And just the other day my hunting partner and I took out my boys. We walked along the river and a few fields up into our last little spot and few Mule Doe’s showed up. So my partner took a nice shot about 100 meters nice lung shot. Anyway my sons 9 & 10 helped in their first field dressing, not even a flinch. I was there age when my dad would take me on the hunt. That’s the reason I am back at it. Get em on it young teach them safe. They are pumped to hunt, they went to school and wrote about the hunt in their journals. Can’t wait for the call lol. And I will say humm out in the bush with dad learning safe hunting or left on their own to roam the city streets...
