Ok , so about a month ago I decided I wanted an AR , I had a Norinco Cq-311 a couple years ago , shot a few hundred rounds through it and felt that there was no point in having something that I could only punch paper with at an approved range!
But the AR bear inside me was stirred and I have had a great hankering for a North American one , but alas with a new young one and not alot of spare funds paying $1200+ for one just was not in the cards for me !
Soooo , I set out on a mission from god , I heard the voice in my head it said young man , you must build yourself an AR for as cheap as possible , and you will get all that you need off of CGN!
So I started scanning the EE religiously , First I found a Barrel , then a lower with a parts kit in it , then the upper receiver and well I am sure you know the rest!
After getting almost everything I could from CGN members (only a couple odds and ends I had to order from Questar and Arms East) this is what I came up with.
It is a simple AR that suites me just fine , not tacked out or anything but I think it is pretty cool !
So here is the break down

Smith and Wesson M&P 16 Inch Barrel
Blue Line lower with A2 Lower pt kit
Stag Arms Upper receiver
F/A Bolt Carrier (Brand Unknown)
Bolt (Brand Unknown)
Stag Arms Charging Handle
From Questar I bought an AR-15
Feild repair kit (for some odds and ends)
RRA Receiver Plate and a stock wrench
and a cam pin
From Arms East I bought a carbine gas tube
tube ,gas tube roll pin , front site detent
detent spring , front site post and for
some reason 2 taper pins

So finally here is what it looks like !!
As soon as I get some time to take it out to the range I will post results!
Thanks for taking the time to check out my thread!!

without a flash suppressor how are you going to be invisible at night!!?!?!

I have thought about that and I do have an A2 flash hider kicking around so I am going to see if I can get the barrel threaded for it , if not I guess I will just have to stick to covert daytime missions.

Nice to see a put together yourself Tevor. Bring it out to homestead for a service rifle match when you get a chance.

That sounds like it would be a lot of fun , I used to shoot at the public range out there , but have since gotten a membership up in olds !
Are they taking new members out there?
