I bought a Cooey model 600 in excellent, shape it shoots s, l, lr rounds anybody own one of these? What ammo works best in yours? So much 22 ammo to choose from don't know where to start. When did they start and end manufacturing of these rifles?
Thanks,

Same thing as a Cooey 60 except usually the stock has carvings of a rabbit . i have a 60 and it eats all and every brand of L/R ammo I feed her ....I use Winchester Dynapoints and hollow points exclusivelly now. No misfires nor hangups.....Made between 1903 and 1961....before serial numbers were required. thus cannot be realiably and accurately aged.

I own a Cooey Mod 60 bolt action, and a Cooey Mod 64A semi auto. The 64A has never fed properly even with different clip magazines and ammo. The model 60 is extremely accurate and works ok for an inexpensive gun but I got these when I was a kid without much money. Knowing what I know now I much prefer my Brno #1 and CZ 511.

CZ Brno, I've no difficulty with my two 64s feeding but do have a fix/mod somewhere for the mags in case they dont fit well, PM and can email it to you.

Like my 60 a lot, has a 4x on it and offers about the same accuracy as my 452. Like my T/C R55 best though.

I spent a lot of time shooting a model 600 as a kid and still have that one in the family (brother owns it). Never failed, ever. Loves Winchester T22s but good luck finding those. I suspect green tag CCI will group nice in that as well, but the T22s shot dime sized groups or better @25 yards

Got a cooey 64b here too, loves CCI mini-mags. By a box each of different .22 ammo and see which one your rifle likes the best. Every rifle seems to be different.

I have an Cooey '60 as well, havent had a scope on it for about 15 years, so havent tested the accuracy in a while. Always goes bang though. :)

Well I got my first cooey 22, it is in very good ++ shape. It has a serial number and made by winchester in cobourg, no rabbit on the stock. The stock is also a dark wood in colour. Would this be a late model 600? Made in the 70's before they closed? Here's pics.

I have a model 39 single shot cooey in my safe registered to me that I'm holding for a friend.

Great little rifle, super accurate even with it's iron sights.
The extractor is a bit finicky at times, and leaves the spent case in the chamber so I have to fish it out... I have been told it is common with these models.

Other then that it's great.

If it was mine I'd mount a scope on it. :)

Great minds think alike, I already put a 4x scope on it about an hour ago (cheap tasco). Its supposed to rain tommorow so I probably won't get to the range until the end of the week. I fired about 25 rounds through it today w/ open sights it worked flawlessly. Time to print some groups on paper....I'll keep you posted.

I just hope you didn't "hurt" it mounting the scope...;)
