Yesterday, I purchased my first gun! A certified refurbished Sig P226. 250 rounds through it yesterday - no time for more... ;(

I love it. I got a lot of help her in choosing. Great forum!

Good choice :D . I've owned a couple of Sigs, and also picked up a certified P226 from TSE. It looks brand new, and it shoots great. Probably the most accurate 9mm I've shot, especially with 115gr. FMJ ammo.

I just got a factory referb Sig P226 but i'm still waiting on my ATT, so i haven't shot it yet :(

It was my very first gun as well. It's rock solid and never jams (unlike my glock). Way to go!
Your Glock should not jam, ever figure out why? The only time I get a "stovepipe" with a Glock is when I "limp wrist" it, is this what you are doing?(the Glock is so light, it is easier to "limp wrist" it)

This one does not have a rail...

Is there a way to add one?

Is there a good armourer in Montreal?

Thanks!

ahh... SIG P226...
my very first gun too SIG P226R it is.... bought it brand new. One weekend the wife tried it at my range.... that was the last time I called that P226 mine....... in paper it's mine. the wife loves it, that she does not shoot her G17 anymore. (dont get her wrong she still like her Glock), but she likes the fit of the SIG in her small hand) Glad she is happy with it. :D :D :D

I think SureFire and InSight has an adapter that will simulate a 'rail' so you can add a tac light to the 226. Not sure but check their websites for more details.

I got two of these CPO guns in 9mm with nite sites, consequtively serialed to boot (JS:cool: ), guns looked like they were never issued. I have over 5k that I can account for on one since Aug 2005 likely over 2K that I cannot document, not a single hiccup. Great pieces.

Welcome to the SIG 226 club::D. I own 2, 1st one's a stainless steel .40cal, 2nd one's a nitrion finish 9mm. As for the rail adapter a previous member mentioned, there's another member selling those on in the EE, go and search in the EE(parts & bits forum) you should find it there. Have fun with your new SIG!!!:dancingbanana:

I purchased a Sig 226 9mm Facorty Refurb as well for my first, I'm still waiting for my ATT so i can get some rounds down range.

Who presently has the best price on 226 refurb's? I see Wolverine has Police trade ins for about $600. Not sure if these are refurbs.
To my knowledge, SIG certified refurbs have a blue paper strip(can't remember what it says on them) wrapped around the grip showing that it is in fact an authentic SIG refurbed pistol.

They also come in Red cases rather than the Blue ones. The blue paper strip around the grip just says SIG on it. There is also a tag attached to the trigger guard that will say Certified Pre-Owned.
