My first handgun just arrived!!! (now w/pic)

Well I just brought my first handgun home. It's a Smith & Wesson Model 14 in 38spl. Thanks badboybeeson!!!!!! I'll post some pics later when Ive gotten over the initial excitement lol.

Someone else made a similar comment about the 38/357 thing. I got this gun due to the great deal that I got from the seller. Besides, its just a first gun, the collection will grow :D

I remember when I got my first pistol,a S&W 686.
I just took posession of a Model 19 S&W a few days ago.
I only plan to shoot 38sp. out of it.
I actually like the feel of the smaller frame S&W than the 686.

I have used a fair number of autos, but my choice when it comes to actually owning a handgun is a revolver, and .357 is my first choice, and you can shoot 38 as well.

I have a S&W highway patrolman model 27 I believe or is it a 28 I'll have to check, nice big N frame with a 6" barrel.

I have some 180grn hollowpoints loaded up, I'll show those 9mm and 40cal shooters how to knock down those heavy falling plates :)

Excellent starter handgun, but you might find you shoot it better with a set of Hogue or Pachmayr finger-goove type grips--I never could shoot the Pachmayr "presentation" grips very well.

Congrats, but you need a new set of grips. Camo grips are definetely out of place on an old school S&W.

You got it right. :) Congratulations on your first handgun! Nothing wrong with a S&W Model 14 in .38 Special, either. The guys with the .357 Magnums mostly shoot .38 Specials or loaded down .357 cases in theirs anyway. :p Been there, done that & got the t-shirt. :redface: And I still have a Model 14 along with all the others that came after... ;)
 
The model 14 S&W is about the best all around revolver you can own. 38 sp is one of the most accurate round there is and I like the K frame better then the L frame, just feels better....Ya did good
 
Congrats on the new 'baby'! Man, getting that first unit, whatever it is, is something you never forget!...Hopefully the first of many!:D

I have recently returned to the 'wheelgun' fold and have been on a buying frenzy...
Have recently picked up a 5" barrel 686 (.357Mag), a 629 (44Mag) as well as a Performance Centre 625 (45ACP)!
I have been whipping up some handloads in 38Sp, 44 Sp, and 45ACP to feed the beasts...and it makes a nice change from the semi-autos....:)
