Well,

I attended the AMA's spring Bang over the weekend, and managed to pull in my first IPSC Gong. Shot a 68.75% with my G17, 10th out of 25 in my class, and took top D-class.

:)

Quite pleased with that!

Not half bad for a service rifle guy!

Good for you....It was a nice match....I like the thought and effort that went into the stages.....
Not too often you start stages holding a Hammer, Chainsaw, axe and Knife in a Zombie.....AND holding a ZOMBIE.!!!!!!! I have a few pics of the start position and also a layout of the "Cooper Tunnel" stage....which for me was the stage from hell!!!! I had a miss, and I think 2 penalties.....plus I tanked my mag change plan and everything went to hell....cost me at least 40 pts...

I also kinda tanked stage 15,"GRAVE YARD SHIFT"..which started out nice,...but I did an extra mag change to hit one steel... A 4 second waste of time.

one of me on stage 14 "ROB ZOMBIE",...i shot 4 extra rounds...most not needed,....but managed 2nd on that stage......my mag change sucked:(

and one of J.Smith on the Axe stage. 4 "EXTINCTION"...in which he came 2nd and I was 3rd

Congrats to Sean Hansen...who bettered Cliff and Jim by a 5% margin..;)
AND congrats to the Standard and Open winners.

Aye,

It was a great match, well run, and the Zombie theme was awesome! Too bad I wasn't allowed to bring my helmet and web-gear in....felt like I needed them at a couple of spots...

As an aside, congrats to the winner of that 590 shotgun....I wish I'd brought a bayonet with me for it!

That would have been great for pics in a Zombie match!

This was my first match since early december....no indoor IPSC shooting in NB.....so in or out I was happy shooting..
But,....can't wait to get outdoors as well.
We had a zombie-smashin black shotgun on tickets too.

Yep, that was a nice shotty.....looks like something I want:shotgun:

If I knew maybe I could have scammed off going to work. All I did was drive the work truck around the city with a hand held radio...

ok, here are some pics...from the stages...

IN all the stages, the shooter started holding the "items" as if they were using them. That damn Doom stage...
