My first Mosin - 1932 Tula Hex

Picked up my first Mosin today. A 1932 Tula Hex with a great looking stock, and matching serial numbers.

As others before me have said, I can see where this is going.....

The bore is in great condition. The rifling looks perfect. Best looking 83 year old I've ever laid eyes on

My first one is shipping today, I'm told it's a early 40's Russian with a good bore. I intend to make it into a hunting rifle. It will fit right in with my first 2 guns, both SKS's lol.

Im up to 4 sks's and 1 mosin hex tula dated 1927. Not sure if its an ex-dragoon but shes sweeet. Just waiting to find a nice tula svt40 now.

If it predates 1930, I believe it would qualify as a dragoon (or ex). I missed out on picking up a 1922 model, but asked if it would have had the upgrades from 1930 and the guy behind the counter said "most likely". I'm still looking for a 1920's or earlier version

To check if ex Dragoon;
Lift the rear sight and look at were the sight base meets the barrel. If it looks like this Google image then its a ex Dragoon.

Nice, I had to check mine, thought I had 3 hex but could only find 2, a 25 and a 22, they have been multiplying, and I certainly have enough! You can never have to many, but you can have enough. I need a Mosin crate to store them in! Would like to refinish one!
