Wow! That was a long process. And, not over - still waiting for the LTATT. :(

They say to "buy the best gun you can afford". I took their advice and scrounged together my Christmas, birthday, valentines, and st. patty's money and purchased a finely crafted piece of chinese reproductionism.

So, I've searched far and wide, and there's very few pics of this pistol on the web. So here's some pics for those of you that have been wondering what $200 of Marstarbucks looks like:

i bought one on the ee a few weeks ago for 85 dollars!!!!!!!!!! its been over two weeks and no transfer yet. I called today and lit a fire under their butts to hurry up . I hope my used one looks as good as your does

Here's some of the differences between the NP-17 and the original TT-33 (other than two-tone of course)

First, a general break down:

The mag has a spacer at the rear (top of screen) to allow for the shorter 9mm round:

It has a "real" safety in addition to the usual half-####:

The slide grip's got a more "modern" style. I like the original better...

The guts of the new safety. The "L" shaped piece to the right of the trigger release forces the trigger unit to simply "miss" the release. Seems kinda scary, but I'm no safety guru.

Lastly, the grip. It's easy to see how much "meat" has been added to the grip. It's WAY more comfortable to hold!

Just a couple more week's, and I get to see how she shoots!:dancingbanana:

The trigger group cleans up nicely and you can reduce the trigger pull to a nice smart 5'ish lbs without too much trouble. First order of buisiness will be to order a TT-33 Tokarev spring kit from Wolff springs in the US. There's also a few other things you can do in the meantime. First will be to order two or three more magazines from Lever Arms here in Vancouver. They are a measely $15 each plus shipping and have the exact same separator walls in the mags as your picture shows.

Here's a link to the thread with many of the M213 mods.

I really thought about getting one of those, looks like it would have been a good purchase - way better looking in your photos than on the web! Plus it has that historical aspect. I have a Norc 1911A1 from Armco, and it is a very nice shooter. If you want to "tweak" it later, I'd definitely see what Gunnar can do for you.

Nice gun, enjoy!

Thats pretty cool man I might have to look into one of those myself.

Welcome to the world of Pistols. :D

Gonna do a range report when you get your LTATT?

I love 'em so much, I bought 2. My wife likes the small grips of the Tokarev clones, so I 'm thinking she can have one once she gets her ATT.

make sure you order a spare firing pin. Mine lasted about 10,000 rounds. Its been on order for 6 months now

Um, was that 10,000 rounds? As in a "one" with four "zeros"?! Through a Norinco? This thing IS awesome!

Where'd you order the pin from? Marstar? Any chinese/russian/czech tt33 pin will work right?

I was playing wih the idea of buying a 7.62x25 barrel and mag for it. But for the same price I could just by the $180 TT33 knock-off already chambered for 7.62!

Only 12 more days till the ATT comes. (or rather, 12 more days till I call and find out it's still not ready, and wander around the house pouting);)

for $180 (more or less), you can buy an original Russian TT-33. Why settle for a knock off?

Looking forward to a range report :)

After a 2 month wait for my ATT, I finally took it to the range!

What a Blast!!:D 100 rounds, not a single jam, mis-fire, or hiccup. Shooting lead Wolf reloads too. Grouping's not great, but as this is my first pistol I'm pretty sure I'm to blame - about 4 inches at 15 yards. So far, I love it. I'd like to maybe add little dots on the sights to make them a little easier to discern, and a trigger tweaking would be nice. Anyone have experience with this?
