My PAL came last night :dancingbanana: so I ran and grabbed SKS that was put aside for me earlier :]

1953 Tula - original stock and all matching numbers except for bolt body (found it only at home during disassembling). Rifling looks sharp and bore surface finish is like mirror. Very happy, hope it will shoot well :D

Nice rifle, of course it will shoot well its an SKS ! They always shoot ! lol

Although I have one seen have 2 big malfunctions. Nothing preventable, both on the same rifle. My friends trigger group blew up, I forget what part but a spring went and a metal piece cracked in half. Another time it was due to bad ammo im assuming but it is the first time ive seen it happen. MILSURP ammo the round got stuck in chamber. The extractor ripped the groove/lip what ever you wana call it right off... Punched it out no problem but a pain in the arse

Congrats! My first SKS came in the mail yesterday, too!

Mine's a 1950 Tula numbers-matching but there's a problem with the way the mag was pinned so I have to take it to a gunsmith to get that sorted. :(

Rouge River Arms in Aurora, 500 for rifle+crate of ammo. They sell sks for 200+tax iirc

Welcome to the SKS club! I still haven't shot mine.

I like Rouge River Arms, bought some reloading components and a bit of ammo there a while back. Talked to them for a while about reloading and general firearms stuff. Nice people.

That's a beauty! Harder to find minty hardwood versions now...

yeah, I originally wanted to buy one with laminate stock, but when I saw this one with all matching numbers on outside - I couldn't resist. Only grain of salt is mismatched number on bolt body, but it is not visible until you pull it out. Somewhat upset about it, but overall very glad with my purchase :]
