And man does it suck. Bought 4 bags of 6.5x55 at the shop today, come home, and proceed to size a bag of them. Three cases out of 50 are unusable. One has a split neck and two have caved in/split shoulders. I'm dreading opening up the other three bags of this crap now.

Yes I'm sure this has been covered but damn I never expected it to be this bad. I always thought it was the just bench rest guys being whiny about winchester brass going downhill cause they had a 0.5gr variance in weight.

So far I'm averaging about 1 in 100 that is beyond use. I've never had a single bag with even one extra piece of brass from Winchester and 1/3 of the bags are one or two cases short. This is out of 500-600 piece of Winchester brass bought.

New Remington brass always has 1-3 extra piece of brass and I've never found a single case that isn't functional. So far I've bought maybe 300-400 R-P cases (and no longer buy Winchester brass).

I've encounted defective brass equally amongst all makes including Norma and Lapua. Winchester brass IMO still has a lot going for it. I always purchase much more than required - there can be a hi loss rate forming wildcats etc...

In my experience, when you get your hand on once fired brass you wont find much more bad one... JP.
