Well. I am pretty sure that I am addicted. Got really hyped before the season and got all ready. Have access to a great piece of property that we have seen many turkeys on. Then I attend the course and figure that I will never see a turkey.... LOL

Anyways fast forward to opening day. Called a group of four in and I took one and my hunting partner took the other. This was 45 minutes into the season....

I got out a couple times over the last month. But did not see anything except for a few hens. Today we went out to close the season. Calls getting nothing. From a long way away we spot a group of 4 birds. We hit the bush and start heading over. We get set up but they are not coming to the calls. We go back into the bush to creep closer, still no reaction to call. We hit the drainage ditch and then creep up beside them. We pop over the edge with the safeties off, verify all are males, and then WE HAVE A BIRD DOWN EACH....

Just thought I would share my first turkey season. It was a blast.

Congrats, looks like you had a good time! I was out the other day, had a jake and hen in front of me, and 2 big boys behind me. Damned hen, wouldn't let me move...:D That's the way it goes sometimes...

Way to go Jeepless, least you're not turkeyless.:D

I've been out four times this week to close the season but only managed to get them to 60 yards, so never took a shot.:(

Congrats on a great first season! It was my first season as well, but mine didn't fare as well. Lots of gobbling the first few times we were out but the last two saturday mornings there was nothing. A few hens were still wandering around but the toms are either moved on or in someone's freezer. Oh well, we'll call it an educational season! Enjoy the birds btw.
