Well it finally happened. I went out this morning to a farm that I am welcome to shoot on and got my first Coyote. This is the first animal I have ever harvested and what a rush. (Insert #### eating grin here) I am a new hunter as of last year and this was my first real hunt. It was an easy one but still a good one none the less.
I knew the coyotes were there as I had seen them before on the farm. So I grabbed my Primos Dogg catcher and setup in my spot near a hay bail in the back corner of the 150acre field. Within 10 seconds of using the Female Coyote howl I had a bunch calling back. Waited 5 minutes and gave it another blast on the call, and wouldn't you know it, out come 2 yotes just racing for my call. I let off the call and they stopped at about 200yds. Gave a couple more seconds on the call and they crept in a bit closer (150yds) so I let the first one have it with the 22-250. Down it went and I couldn't stop shaking!!!! Man what a thrill!! Wasn't the best shot I have ever made in my life but it went down.
I do believe I am now hooked.
