My Garand finally bit me.

What a rookie mistake. I had just finished stripping and cleaning my Garand. I was going to put one more blob of grease in and WHAMMO! I got bit.

Had that happen to me with a Hakim (much bigger version of the ag42). The bolt releases by pushing the dust cover back against the reciever block.

Turns out if you let the butt drop onto your foot while holding the gun via hands in the action, that'll release it too.

Closed right on the first joint on my thumb and held tight. I actually flailed that gun around on my thumb and hit myself with it....

I don't feel like as much of a fool hearing about other people's misfortune now though
