My only shot of my great-grandfather with gun in hand. Looking the part of the pioneer farmer. Wapoose Ranch, Alberta circa 1920.

Likely a hardware store quality double. English stocked of course ;)

I have a set of pics from my great, great granfather who was a guide in the revelstoke area. They are very similar to yours. Truly a priceless family heirloom from days gone by. Awesome picture.

This thread made me go looking for some pics...

Grampa with 2 does he shot. Martin River, Ontario 1933. Grampa had a Winchester M1894 SRC, in .32WinSpcl, which is probably the rifle he is holding.

My Grampa with deer hound. Island Lake, Ontario 1934.

Relaxing. My Grampa is second from the right.

More relaxing... Grampa is second from the left.

This picture looks suspiciously like 'camp fun', with maybe some alcohol involved...

Grampa sitting in doorway, cleaning the shotgun. Looks like 2 guys are passed out, to the left!

Me Mum's dad on the right, Posing with Mudpouts, circa 1900.

My Mum's dad, in the middle. Posing with hounds, foxes and shotguns. Dapper looking dudes! This is from like 1898.

I wonder if maybe that double isn't the one that Blob has that Grampa said would go off if loaded and the action closed. I've seen some of those pictures but not all of them . Its very cool to see that the family has been out hunting and fishing for well over 100 years in Canada.
