My brand new Model 70 .30-06 Supergrade is finally sighted in. The gun shot under an inche with 180 grain Winchester silver balistic tips. I haven't tried any other ammo yet. Gun kicks like most 30-06's so don't think the "pachmeyer" pad will will save you. I shot off 25 rounds and was flinching like a mother flincher by the end. The action on the gun is superb and the fit and finish are excellent. To me, the gun feels like a high end rifle in my hands. I would definately recomend this gun to somebody else. The only thing a do not like about the gun is the finish on the stock. I would prefer a high gloss finish over the satin finish but thats just me and cosmetic.

PS - the gun shot under an inche and I was using a 2.5-8x scope with the German#4 crosshair which is really thick and I can't even see an inche dot at 100. The gun will more than likely be able to acieve 1/2" groups once I get some handloads developed!

Great looking rifle there. You must have been pleasantly surprised with your first groupings. I was wondering about the the model 70 and how they were shooting. Would that be a 24 inch barrel or 22? I have two old pre 64 in 30/06 and they are the best balanced rifles I ever used. How is the trigger pull? will it have to be reset?

Nice looking rifle. What's the story behind your shooting table? It looks interesting.

I built the shooting table myself last week. works great. Has folding legs and the top is just a 1/2 inche piece of plywood cut in half, glued and drilled together. I then cut out my shape, added gun holders and routered it. Then stanied and cl;ear coated and sanded between clear coats. I then got a $3 mat from walmart and went shooting. the desing of it works great for both right and left handed shooters.

I hate to be a pest but could you post a couple pics of the table by itself?
