Bought the wood stock, black 20" barreled Auslof shotgun from Tactical Imports. Also ordered the "hunting plug" kit and the "mini-shell" kit.
Had to ask how to install the two kits as no instructions on how to use these accessories came with the gun. Clear instructions by email from T.I. solved that issue, although I note that the two pieces only came with one metal clip so I cannot install both the plug and the mini-shell adapter at the same time. I have no mini-shells (yet) so I have not tested it with mini-shells at this time.
Took the shotgun to my local trap range and loaded 10 rounds in the firearm (8 in tube, 1 in transfer tube, 1 in chamber). Did that 2 times, plus loaded 5 for a total of 25 rounds (1 line of trap). Was able to hit 17 or so out of 25 (I didn't count). Did it again, hitting about the same number.
The reloading action worked flawlessly with my Challenger #8 2.75" shells. Every time it took a shell from the transfer tube to the chamber. After watching YouTube videos I had some concerns but for me, it worked fine.
I am having a few "issues" though. Although the firearm says 3" shells, if you put 3" shells in the magazine, they are too long to fit inside the transfer tube to take the shell from the magazine to the chamber (see pic). If you load 3" shells in the magazine, have fun getting them out! I had to use a rod to press through the transfer tube, then swing the tube out and unload the magazine. So, except for a single round in the chamber, my shotgun will not work with 3" shotgun shells.
One debate I am having with T.I. is the "hunting plug". I'm in Ontario, and as per the Ontario hunting regulations found here https://www.ontario.ca/document/ontario-hunting-regulations-summary/general-regulations "A shotgun must be plugged so that it cannot hold more than a total of 3 shells in the chamber and magazine combined." With the hunting plus installed, my Auslof can hold 5 rounds (of 2.75" shells) (as above, my firearm cannot transfer 3" shells from the magazine to the chamber). I can load 3 in the magazine, 1 in the transfer tube, and 1 in the chamber. In theory, if my firearm could work with 3" shells, then it would hold 2 in the magazine, 1 in the transfer tube, and 1 in the chamber for a total of 4 rounds.
Based on my understanding of the hunting regulations, I cannot take my firearm hunting unless I extend the hunting plug so only 1 shell fits inside the magazine.
Still, it's a fun gun to shoot. If they ban all semi, pump, and lever shotguns, I guess this will become my "main" hunting shotgun (vs single or double barreled shotguns) with a longer plug in the magazine. But until then, it's just a range toy.
YMMV
