So it's put together, anyone tell me where this thing came from? Where it's been.

Don't know what this means.... Also thinking my rear sight needs to come back about 1/16th of an inch.

What do you think? I've wanted one of these for a long time, can't wait to shoot it! Bore is sooooo nice.

No offence but something def isnt right.
THe rear sight needs to be moved back. Where is the front sight?
And what is that thing on the barrel back further?

To me the barrel doesnt look like a K98K barrel.

I agree on the rear sight needing to come back, front sight is loose in the pics, but it's on there now...

What about the barrel? Looks alright to me? but this is my first Mauser.

Thanks.

German bolt, Israeli receiver with a weird ass barrel.looks like the barrel was used on a semi, have you shot it yet? just wondering if you've seen gas come out of that little thingy at the end of the barrel that means they installed a barrel from another rifle that was either semi or fa
Nice rifles, they are great for hunting as well. Lots of history in these IDF Mausers. Strange to see the Israeli star and German birds on the same rifle.

What's weird about the barrel? I bought it off a very reputable CGNer. The steps in the barrel match the stock.

It's all mismatched I guess, but the price was right. Going to pick up proper bands, move sight and that's a wrap I think.

Hope you didn't pay too much for it, that's a mess. What kind of trigger is on it? Looks like some aftermarket unit?

Holy man, it's all good. New bands, move the back sight back, put on my handgaurd and it's good lol. Not that much of a basket case!

Trigger is a Timney, sooooo nice.

What fun! LOL usually when I get anything like that it turns out to be a pile of crap that assembles into a slightly larger pile of crap and gets sold for 1/2 what I paid for it...

When do we see a range report ?!

You guys suck LOL, it's all good.

I'll post a report on here from the range no later than Wednesday, maybe tommorow if i get a chance.

The spring is correct I think, just fits weird with those bands. Going to shoot it and see how it does, in the mean time, if you know where I can get proper bands and the piece that goes on the front of the back sight to hold the handgaurd in let me know!!

Thanks for the replies gents, i'll keep you posted on how it shoots with pics and once I get it together as well!

the little metal piece right above the front band?

Well that little thing with the hole on the barrel looks almost like a gas port. there is no upper hand guard. The band is only held in by friction when its suppose to go on the retention spring on the stock.

Let us know how it shoots , this is one of the weirdest mausers I have ever seen even by Israeli standards.

Guys, the little thing with the hole in it is the front sight, it's been put in place now lol.

Well as I remember the front sight slot had a ramp from the receiver side and is much longer. Its is also shrink fitted on so its really tight. If you can move it with out a problem it will lose zero quickly
