I have been thinking about building my first rifle in 6mmbr and was looking for a doner gun and my nieghbor has had this gun for three years and never shot it...well sort of. Just after he bought it he had a "remington moment" and the gun went off without him touching the trigger and it's been sitting ever since. Anyways ....we went over for a couple new years drinks and I have been thinking of his rifle and asked if I could check it out. Long story short I came home with it. I'm now a owner of a Remington heavy barrel 6mm.
The person he bought it from gave him 20 reloaded shells and I got 19 of them:rolleyes:. I took it home and cleaned it up and shot it today. Well it shot too good and now I can't stand the thought of tearing it apart. I shot a 3 shot group at 100m and outside to outside was .372 - .244 = awsome. I realize it's only a 3 shot but I've now contacted the first owner and asked for the reloading data for this gun and will see if it is somthing I can do consistantly. I'm looking forward to seeing what it can do.

The 6mm Remington is one of my favorites. Mine is a Parker Hale 1200V and is a keeper.Perhaps the best all-purpose 6mm cartridge to come down the pike, IMO. Keep your's as is and shoot it alot. You'll love it.

I'm going to the city next week and will pick up some dies, brass and bullets. Is there a go to powder for the 6mm like H4831 is for the 270?
And ya I'm gonna keep this gun as is other than maybe a trigger and scope later on.
