How small a group will it shoot at 50yds that is the test required to judge accuracy
The smallest group that it can shoot at 50 yards is not the appropriate test of accuracy for any rifle.
Why? That could easily be the result a happy circumstance, a random act of accuracy. Any decent rifle with decent ammo can shoot one really small group among others that are not so small.
Here's a first group on a target, shot with a CZ 452 sporter of the same design as skwerl's new rifle that replaces his Lithgow. At under .200", it is very promising. But, despite being the smallest group on the target, it's not the best test to judge the rifle's accuracy. The next group was quite different.
The target showing five groups tells more of the story. While the next best group is still good at under .300" the inconsistency of the others shows that one good group is relatively meaningless. In fact, 25 shots can't tell a very complete story about the rifles accuracy any more than a single inning pitched can tell much that's conclusive about a pitcher over the course of a game or a season.
