Well Im just getting into this long range shooting. A couple months ago I bought a Savage FCP-K 110 in .300 win mag. I did some load and OAL testing at 100y. I found my best combo is 75gr 4831sc, 4.482 OAL with Hornady 180gr SST. They were consistently a ways between .25"-.5"" at 100y. So I Gps'd myself a spot at 280y, fired off 5 shots, to foul, and heat the barrel (shoots better hot), crappy group and 10" low (100y zero) dialed in 10" elevation, 5 shots in just a little over 2" group, next 5 were 1-7/8" of horizontal almost dead straight with the exception of second from left 1/4" low. Farthest right was a flinch and about 3/4 away from the main group. There was a slight breeze, from prone on a bipod. Im quite happy. I was satisfied with the target, and moved on to reactive targets...rocks.
I cant figure out how to post pics from my Iphone, then again who cares. But here's the thing, later im thinking about this, according to the ballistic app, my velocity was much lower than I anticipated with that charge, and I quickly realized my gps was on meters..280m = 306 yards. Finally I bought something that Im satisfied with. Quality.....thats rare these days. Either that or I got lucky.

No offence but 306 yards is plain vanilla hunting rifle range. Save the pics for the 600 yards stuff. Keep it up. It gets better with practice.

I need a better scope.. soon I hope. I just have a temporary piece of junk tasco 6-18 i found on craiglist the day I picked up the rifle for $60 with rings. You wanna see crappy glass! The only good thing about it is the click values are accurate, up just goes up and left just goes left, and Im not gonna waste ammo to give you guys a box test. Anywhere in the lower mainland for 600+yards? im always looking but can never find something thats decent.
