So I just got my stock back from Arma-Coat today. They did a great job, I can't wait to reach out and touch some paper with this bad boy!

So the battle rail and the USGI parts were installed buy Francisco at Omega Custom Guns. Turns out most of the after market American parts didn't just drop right in. So some machining was needed. Apparently this USGI fiberglas stock was originally done buy the M14 doctor. If thats true or not, I have no idea.

Here's a better shot of the paint job. I think it turned out pretty good. Apparently his coatings can take a beating as well. The inside of the stock was painted, and didn't get all scratched up when I installed the trigger group, as it was a tight fit.

You can kind of see here that he did some dark speckling on the lighter parts, and light speckling on the darker parts. I thought that was a nice added touch I wasn't expecting. Over all, I give it two trigger fingers up!! If you are thinking about painting a stock consider Arma-Coat if you don't want to do it yourself. The whole cost was around $300 including shipping both ways. (Toronto to Alberta and back) It also included the upper hand guard which isn't in any of the pictures, but looks just as good.

Its the troy battlerail.

Correct! It's really well built, and lots of space for lasers, scopes, am/fm cassette players!!

Are those flip up iron sights?

They must be really high off the gun compared to where your eye level would be with your chin on the stock to get a sight picture with?

Have you tried using them like that yet?

No I haven't tried to use them yet. They are the troy flip up plastic sights. I have a set on one of my AR's and I found they work really well. Being as I had to remove the rear sight for the battlerail, I figured I would get a set just in case. However I think your right, after installing everything they do look pretty high.

Thanks for the comments. On the digital finishes we try to do a smoothing effect by misting the arma-coat over the areas giving the digital look a more "smoothing appearance" which I believe really makes the stock more blendable in an outdoor environment. I am glad you enjoyed the extra touch and appreciate the work. Thanks again.
