Here's my baby,

Boyd walnut stock trimmed to properly seat receiver, tung oil 3 coat finish, polished and beewaxed
smith ent muzzle break
marstar ss op rod spring guide, recoil buffer and gas lock front sight
italian garand rear sight
gas system shimmed.

Now need some kind of rail or quick detach swivel to add a bipod :)

Haven't even fired it yet! lol
I get more fun tweaking it, but I really have to try this muzzle break!

That is very sweet! I've love to hear about how the muzzle break works for you. I'd like to know the obvious, how well the sights stay on target, but also how much noise is deflected back to the shooter.

Under the operating rod slot in the receiver there's an area where the wood is not carved far enough to let it seat properly, I don't know if it's done this way to allow easier bedding but without the wood work I've done, there was a gap between the receiver and the stock and one side was higher.
I'll try to post closer pics of this later. If anyone know why they have done the stock this way let me know. I don't plan bedding it for now but I suppose there's a gap there to put some bedding material.
Currently it's seating perfectly nice and tigh.

About the muzzle break I'll probably go out to try it this week-end, I'll let you know the difference as I've owned one without it before.

Thanks for the comment about the stock, it's really nice in person. I would like to put a bipod especially to protect the stock from the bench or the rocks :)

I also plan to paint the metal with duracoat or similar finish since not all parts have the same colour. Any opinions about it?

I also had to remove wood on the right side of the stock beneath the op rod rail to compensate for the sloping bottom of the rail. Otherwise, the action would not have sat flat on the stock. Boyd's stock?
 
this line of the stock requires a 10 degree bevell . careful inspection of the receiver underside edges will show you what i mean. this bevell applies to the right side and left side of the receiver/stock fit, but is longer on the right side. if you are lowering the stockline to seat the reeceiver and are making it flat instead of bevelled.... it ain't right
 
I looked at my chu wood stock to get the length of the cut right. The bevel is right on the Boyd's, just doesn't go back far enough. Took me a couple of minutes with a sharp chisel.
 
For the bipod rail, Fulton Armoury in the US sells a little replacement front sling swivel with a 1 1/2" or so long picatinny rail extended on it. You simply use a dremel to cut the heads off the screws holding the existing swivel on, then replace it with the new one (use locktite). You may have to enlarge the flatspot slightly. I finished my walnut stock with polyurethane, and the finish had coagulated along the edge of the flat spot. I took a small file and flattened it down: No problem.

I had mine shipped to a minnesota location, because I live 40 minutes from the border, so I don't know if they ship to Canada, but you could certainly do what I did: ship it to a border location and pick it up.

you can order rails from canada..... try tiger tactical, i think they are a dealer here
i got my weaver rail from dlask and i custom cut it, and tapped it.

Wolverine sells a 6 inch Falcon rail that comes with low profile nuts for mounting in a stock. Thats what I used for mine. I put mine behind the sling swivel like 45 did.

Nope, but it was to a US address. I simply said: 'Its a Canadian credit card, but you will be shipping it to my minnesota address.'
 
This muzzle break works great. If you have another regular m14 in hands, you can easily tell the difference. I would say feels like it reduces at least 40% recoil.
