Well, I have a had a SS/Syn 10/22 on order since the first of November and it finally showed up on wednesday. I got out to the range with it to break it in. I dont know what to say for sure, but I think she is gonna be a PITA with ammo and to try and find out what likes.
As far as accuracy goes I was only shooting off hand or sometimes resting my elbows on a table at 20 meters, with open sights. And I was getting 10 shots under 2 inches. Plus I'm not the most steady person there ever was. So far Im definatly happy with the accuracy and can't complain too much hehe
Here comes the rant:
Im going to try for more precision when my scope shows up. I had ordered it at the same time as the gun but there was a "stock MISCALCULATON" on their part and didnt have it when they said they had some so that put my order way behind. I had the registration 3 weeks before the gun
and its a non restric...... ahh headaches. I had kept callin to find out it the scope was there yet because the word was "middle of November" so they sent me the gun and said they would send the scope when it shows up.
The ammo issue: Well I knew from lots of researching that the gun could be finicky with ammo or it might not be. As my luck would have it she's a B!tch.
I started out with what I had left in a 525 federal champion bulk pack, some times I would have 10 rds or even 20 rds go by with out a hiccup but then I'd get 2 or 3 jambs per clip. This fed bulk pak stuff had worked flawless with not one dud in my revolver my cooey 60 and a nylon 66. I was using 2 factory ruger mags. The clear one that came with it and also a black one I had ordered for an extra. Same troubles with both. The trouble was the odd shell wouldnt fully eject and get stuck when the bolt closed on it some times crushing them completly flat. They next round always fed into the chamber no problem. Next I used the new red box powerpoints from W.M. same issues. After that I raided my old mans ammo box and used up about 4 half empty boxes of random 22 shells. Win. 22target-jambs. Win. std velo. HP-jambs old Imperial high velocity HP only 2 jambs in about 40 rds. And 10 stingers (all that was left) and not one jamb. It is pretty hard to tell because there was only 10 but the shells went alot father away so probably wont have any problems with them.
I hope I can find something that she likes other than Stingers because they are $6.99/50 rds around here. Just incase anyone is wondering, off hand with open sights the Stingers grouped as good as the others.
ps. I picked up some dynapoints to try again. I hope they are better than the box I bought last spring.
