This is my new 20 ga Yildiz SPZME Special (made in Turkey). Weight 5 lb 12 oz, 28" bls, ejectors, 5 chokes, mechanical triggers and manual safety. Crome lined bls with black chrome finish outside with 5 chokes. The action is Hand engraved - jewelled hinge area. The wood is nicely oil finished grade 5 Turkish walnut. The checkering is typical European style with a few over runs. Wood to metal is superior with a well fitted pad.
Definetly not a clays gun but will be excellent for upland. Because of it's lightness I did up some light loads (green dot -1100fps). On patterning, I found the bls to be well regulated with the nicely timed ejectors throwing the spent shells about 12 feet behind. The trigger weight was about average and the safety worked smoothly. With the 28"bls it balances about a half inch ahead of the replaceable hinge pins and is very lively in hand. One would assume that given its lightness at would feel whippy -- It does not. I shot 2 rounds of sheet (down gun) and managed a 19 and a 22, which is not great but is about as well as I can do right now due to tendon problems in both shoulders. I took the gun apart and was surprised at the high quality of the inner workings.
This is a great little gun for the $. I read that Yildiz wants to be known as the Beretta of Turkey. I would be almost tempted to compare it to a Beretta
687EL But this gun sells for around $1500.00 & they have entry level guns starting around $700.00 ( move over CZ -- theres a new kid on the block)
