In a fit of poor judgement I agreed to sell my Mountian Rifle LSS in 260 to a budy who has back and neck problems and can't handle recoil. I immediately went into withdrawl, this rifle(acquired from RickF via Rembo) was spooky accurate, it would group into 3/4 of an inch at 200 yards on a calm day with hunting loads(125 gr partitions over H4350).
I acquired another (courtesy Kman) and a Leupold VX11 3x9x40(rockchucker).
I loaded up said load and today went to sight it in. It took me three shots to get to the bull, 1st 5 shot group 1.1 second 5 shotter .71. This rifle doesn;t appear tohave had any bedding work done, same as the previous one, just the trigger adjusted.
What a great whitetail combination, the Model 700 mountain Rifle in 260 rem.
This is not a plug for Remington, I wasn't very impressed by the SPS and CDL's I handled recently but these two are great.
what do you guys think
RIFLE's or CALIBRE?

Must be the cartridge.........I just acquired a stainless Model Seven 260 with tupperware stock and I too was pleasantly suprised at the accurracy. No bedding work at all, just a trigger adjustment to 3# and the thing shoots factory 140 Core Locts into an inch. Shot a three shot group at 200 meters under 1-1/2"......gotta like that :D

the 6mm cal is a very accurate bullet in almost any CASE.......
i have never used one but i no lots of people who have them and love em...
talk to ya all later

Nice compact little package ... like it a lot more with a VXII 2-7 on top in QD mounts.

A lot of 6.mm's /.264's shoot well, for some reason, not just the .260 Rem.
Scandanavian hunters take a lot of moose with the 6.5x55 - don't sell it short as a pipsqueak cartridge.

Glad you've gotten your hands on a couple of good ones.
