Just excited to take my new toy out tomorrow and run some rounds. This is my first bolt gun that didn't just come straight off the shelf. A few specs and upgrades to the rifle include,

-Remington 700 5R Milspec .308
-McGowen Custom Super Match - 1/10 twist - .900 at the muzzle
-AICS 2.0 Folder upgraded with Viper Skins and V2 rear stock
-Jewel Trigger
-ATRS 20MOA Rail
-Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 MOAR with Zero Stop ceracoated in FDE
-Nightforce Ultralight Rings
-Harris Swivel Bipod(for now) Still waiting on my AICS bipod and Monopod

Cant wait to get this thing out tomorrow and see what she can do

Nice rifle! Heck of a way to get started into bolt guns. Who coated your scope for you? Looks good!

Yeah that would be one heck of a way to start lol Not my first bolt just my first re barrelled bolt. I own a few Savage 10's, BA110's in .338 and .300wm and and have owned a few 5R's

The ceracoate was done by customguncoating.com

hmm you do realize with that much work done that you dont have a 5r milspec at all any more... your into the realm of Semi custom... very nice

just to throw in my .02$ id skip on the mono pod, a good rear bag (i use a squeeze bag type) is much more stable and actually faster to adjust for elevation then the mono pods are... i had one.. for about 1 range trip..

Yes, yes I'do ;) Just thought that thread title would be a good for all those expecting to see a basic 5R. Appreciate your thoughts on the monopod as I haven't actually ordered it yet. I did order the bipod but was going to wait until the Christmas season ended before getting it coming. Perhaps now I will reconsider. With every other rifle I have I shoot off a bag just thought the monopod would complete the package

Couldn't agree more on the monopod. I had one and got rid of it. A good rear bag is much more versatile. I had an old army sock and filled it with poly beads and it works better than anything I have used. I am talking for field use. Even on the range I found it better than a bunny ear type bag but thats just me. YMMV. Cheers.
