My New Custom Rifle 700 Titanium

Thanks for the clarification on triggers.

The wide shoe & curve doesn't bother me on the 510, have yet to try the Timney thin version.

Been thinking of picking up a Trigger Tech Special to check them out.

I gotta get a 700 Ti short action one of these days...

The Timney 520 has a lot better shoe then the other Timney’s. The 510 is too wide and curved for my liking. This one is thinner and less curved.

The 510 THIN has a decent shape as it is much more narrow but still has a lot of curve.

That's pretty close to what I did with one of my ti's, I didn't true, just boldface and no extractor.

what was your goal with this? What was the original like? I'm always curious as to reasons how/why choosing a cartridge when doing a build. Are you building a gun around a cartridge or other way around.

The original gun was a 300WSM as well. My brother used it to drop a moose in its tracks at 488yds in NFLD last year. It has been my go to cartridge for deer and moose for years in a few different rifles. I like a .30cal for versatility in bullet sellection. I typically use a 308win or even a bolt gun 7.62x39 for deer. 300WSM has the ballistics of a long Magnum but in a shorter lighter package. It has the capability to do anything I could ever ask it to do in North America.

Building something custom takes the fun out of walking into a rifle store tho.

Love it. Very nice rifle. Got me jealous for sure. I was looking at building a very similar rifle but in a 7 saum, my ideal cartridge. The 300wsm was on my list too. Hope you are going to get the results your after, which I'm sure you will. Hope to see the range report.
