I had some reservations about the 22 wmr ,before i got it ,but having a accurate 22 lr (the savage mark 2 bv with accutrigger) already .
i wanted a good quality rim fire gun for hunting, so i took a chance so i opted for the 22 mag knowing that they wernt all that accurate .
BOY has my opinion changed at least with my new baby .
although the federal 40 gr full metal jacket grouped best there almost useless as a hunting round ,but great for plinking.or minimum pelt damage ,
second smallest group was the CCI maxi mag 33 gr gold dot to my surprise, would be a very explosive round and fantastic for small game were penetration is no concern.
third is remington 40 gr pointed soft point this my first choice for hunting ,its only .003 of a inch bigger and i can probably get it better than the gold dots and the 40 gr remi will allow for deeper penitration and controled expantion,at least thats what remington claims . im anxtious to give a field report . but i wouldnt hesitate to take down any small game up to and including coyotes whith this one .
fourth smallest group was the 33 gr remington V MAX which i labeled accutip on the group pic s , although i was impressed with the round they cost my $18.99 for a box of 50 so i ain't getting any more until the price comes down .
5 th smallest group ,the remington 40 gr jacketed hollow point (my second choice for hunting )has the exact same bullet as the 40 gr CCI maxi mag the remi just ran better in my gun .
and last is the dynapoints (they are the ####tiest things ive ever called a cartridge )

over all they were all pretty good but im favoring remington right now and least until i can get some federal ammo to test out .

ps i love this gun

Congratulations black sunshine, according to "Soundtech Co." the CZ452 in LR and WRM, is a very accurate and dependable rifle they use alot for predator control in the eastern USA, in congested areas.

I wonder muchly how your 100 yard groups will pan out???
Cheers.....

as long as its not raining out im going to the range tomorow .
im optomistic about the groups at 100 yrds although im thinking the gun and ammo can outshoot me .
it was all i could do to hold a steady aim from the sandbag bench at 50 yds.
with out passing out from holding my breath .
i dont think i can hold a 1 inch group at 100yds but im shur the rifle can.
never the less im still confident that i should be able to bag anything small game size out to 100

yes, its a bit of interesting info there.
i gues you get what you pay for .
with regards to the cz452, although its not the most expensive rim fire gun on the market the quality is definatly there with the hammer forged barrel a decent bolt ,nice wood combined with good ammo and a good scope its a real tac driver .
i still dont think it can compeate with the accuracy of the 17 hmr .
and i was very seriously considering one in fact when i got my rifle they had all the different calibres there in the cz 452 (22lr, 22wmr , 17hmr) still opted for the 22 mag as it has the most killing power and frontal area and provides more penitration with bullets that are double the grains than the 17 hmr.
and is still accurate enough for clean kills out to at least 100 yds.in my opinion. it was this comparison that helped me to decide on the 22 wmr

i knew that i wanted the cz452 the concern that i had was with the caliber . but i think that with the introduction of new ammo like the stuff that i tryed out today it can make firearms that arnt known for great accuracy magicely become somthing more ,not just rim fires too .
theres the new ammo from hornady for lever guns and there are others ammo manufacterers designing radical new ammo turting that old piece of junk in the closit in to real accurate guns.

Experiment with breath control. Holding my breath doesn't work too well for me- it just adds to the stress of holding the rifle steady. It will increase the heart rate, making control more of a struggle. Regulated breathing works better. I'm more accurate firing in the middle of a slow "exhale" than anything else. I've found the key is getting my breath rate slowed down... others may have something different on this subject- it's what works for me.

The light weight high velocity bullets in the WMR can be pretty devastating on small edibles within 50 yds, with not much left to eat. If you can make consistent head shots, it shouldn't be a problem otherwise...

Nice rifle. I like that stock!

i went out shooting today for the 100 yd groops.
beautiful day ,wind was up a bit though .
all shots were from solid concreate bench gun resting on sand bags .
i cleaned gun ,fired two foulers ,then fired the group.
I did this for each different type of ammo .
i fired two groups for the rem 40 gr pointed soft point because i felt the wind affected the first group and expected better.
the second group was much better and i feel the other ammo could have grooped better also .
i also shot water filled 1 gallon milk jugs with each round from 50 yds in hopes of recovering them to observe the bullet . none were recovered all jugs were compleatley blown to pieces the maxi mag 33 gr tnt gold dots were quite explosive. anyway heer are the groups.

heers a video of me shooting the 9mm beretta CX4 storm and my kimber custom tactical 11 45 acp ,and she jams on me using some crappy lead wad cutter reloads ,both run perfect with good ammo.

black sunshine; Looks like that CZ is doing great! I have a 452 American in 22 LR, and have just ordered one in 22 WRM. Hope it performs well, but if my 22LR is any indication, it will be just fine. I am sort of a collector of accurate 22 rimfires, and have Remington 541's, Finnfires, old Mossbergs, etc, etc. Enjoy your WRM! Regards, Eagleye.
