My New " F " Class Rifle by Mick McPhee

I went up to Kamloops this weekend and picked up my upgraded REM 5R from
MASTER RIFLE BUILDER Mick McPhee , The build totally surpast my expectations , Mick is truly a Master at Smithing. He made a custom barrel on his P&W barrel machine , He said the bar stock he used was super stabil and it will be a real hummer.
Here is what he upgraded on my 5R

The Rem 700 action was blueprinted.
Custom McPhee barrel optimised for the .175 Matchkings
11 Deg target crown
Jewel Trigger set at a crisp 8 ounces
Over sized recoil lug
Anshutz Rail
Action bedded , fully free floated barrel.

I will be useing this Rifle to shoot in " F " class restrictd next year , I will post a range report after i put togethier some loads and test it out , thanks to
Ian Hames and Len Grinell for Introducing me to Mick and their recomendations on the build, When i save up some coin i will be putting a NightForce on the rifle.

That is one sweet rifle!! I saw the barrel being worked on and I spoke with Mick about your build. I think he was as excited as you are about it. Welome to a whole new level of shooting! You have done it right: Best components, outstanding gunsmith and best optics. You now have the tools to become a great shooter! I look forward to shooting with you again and I look forward to hearing all about your new masterpiece!!

We are so lucky to have a barrel maker of Mick's caliber (no pun intended)!

I commissioned Mick to build me a 6BR. I can't wait till it gets here! Yours will be a shooter for sure! Maybe I'll see you in a future F-class shoot (though I'll be shooting in Open).

P.S. 8oz trigger? I thought F(R) has a minimum trigger pull weight of 1.5# or something...?

Nice to see another F TR shooter. Very challenging cartridge to master at LR.

No pull weight restriction in F-Class other than it must be safe.
